This program gave me no problems from an installation standpoint and I found it to be a nice upgrade from the 2003 version that I had been using. The user interface is more intuitive and the programs more powerful and useful. I agree that the inclusion of Outlook would have been nice, but the Excel, Word and Powerpoint applications are great and well worth the price.

Office 2010 is a huge improvement over Office 2003, and a modest tweak compared to Office 2007. This version only includes Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and OneNote, which is my only complaint about it. I would spend a little bit extra money to get a version that includes MS Outlook for its calender, contacts, e-mail, and RSS features, especially since MS Outlook is the part of Office 2010 that has the most improvements over Office 2007. It is included in the next version up from this one called the Home and Business Edition. If you take another step up from that to the Professional edition, you get a full year of technical support (instead of the 90 days that comes with the other versions), MS Publisher, and MS Access.
If all you need is Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and OneNote, and you are currently running Office 2003 or older, than this is the right thing for you to buy. If you have Office 2007, I would recommend waiting until the price comes down or until Office 2014 comes out. If you haven't tried Outlook or Publisher, you should download a trial of them from Microsoft's website before you decide which version of Office to buy. I think after seeing what they can do, you will decide that the Professional version is a better suite than this one.

I had a trial version of Microsoft Office which came with my laptop, so I was in the market for the full blown version that would work with my Vista system. This product was easy to use and install and walked me throught the entire process. I would highly recommend to anyone.

I've been using Office for as long as I can remember, and while the general look and feel always stayed the same, Microsoft always managed to add just enough new features to make it worth the investment to upgrade. In Office 2010, the interface has seen the first major overhaul since the switch to Office XP. The ribbon interface makes everything so much easier to find, as long as you can remember where each button is located.
Installation over an existing Office package is flawless, and none of your files or other settings are injured in the process. Once installed, this version offers Word, Excel, Powerpoint and OneNote. This means you don't get Access, Publisher, Infopath or Outlook. The 3-install licenses included in the family pack make it a great bargain, selling all three for less than one usually retails for. Only restriction is that you must use it as a student, or at home - so no business usage.
As for the software itself - everything you'd expect to find in Office is still there, along with way too many new features to list. Some worthy upgrades include the ability to save as PDF, Office online document sharing and some neat new home budgeting tools in Excel.
All in all, if you can find it for the right price, a worthy upgrade. One word of advise - try the free trial from Microsoft.com before you invest in this newest version.
